I love pizza! It’s probably the one food I could never fully give up. Of course, that’s only if it’s a great quality ‘pizzeria’ style pizza. Thankfully, you don’t have to go out for great pizza, you can make one (or two) at home with my easy pizza dough recipe and my Better Than Store Bought Pizza Sauce
Ingredients:
3 ¾ cups All-Purpose Flour
1 tsp. Sugar
1 packet Rapid-Rise Active Dry Yeast
1 ½ cups Hot Water (not boiling)
2 Tbs. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 tsp. Salt
Directions:
Combine flour, sugar and yeast in the bowl of a stand mixer with dough hook attached. Stir to combine. With the mixer on low speed, slowly add the water and olive oil. When the dough starts to come together, add the salt. Continue to mix on low until the dough comes together to form a ball on the hook, and the bowl looks ‘clean’. You may need to add a bit of water or flour to find the right balance for the dough. Remove the dough from the hook and knead by hand a few minutes on a lightly floured surface. You’ll know when the dough is ready when it’s smooth and slightly elastic. Place a tablespoon of olive oil in a large non-plastic bowl, swirl to coat and place dough in bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and place in a warm place to rise. After 45 minutes to 1 hour, the dough should be double in size. Punch dough down and cut dough into two pieces. Roll and shape dough into two large pizza rounds about ½ inch in thickness.
Top with my Better Than Store Bought Pizza Sauce
Garnish with desired toppings
Bake at 425 ⁰ F. on middle oven rack for 20-22 minutes.
